The Ohio State Buckeyes always reload year and after when it comes to the wide receiver position. Freshman wide receiver Jeremiah Smith is the latest freshman at Ohio State who is ready to turn heads this season.
The Buckeyes are a wide receiver factory in college football just like the LSU Tigers. Ohio State has produced Marvin Harrison Jr., Garrett Wilson, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, and others in the NFL recently. The thoughts of Jeremiah Smith being an NFL wide receiver are a while away, but wide receivers coach Brian Hartline always seems to find talent at the wide receiver position.

Entering the 2024 season, the Ohio State Buckeyes are the second-ranked team in the country under head coach Ryan Day. Ohio State has a chance to win it all for the first time since the 2014 season.
Ohio State Buckeyes Wide Receiver Jeremiah Smith Listed As CBS Sports Preseason Freshman Of the Year

CBS Sports writer Shehan Jeyarajah made some predictions before the 2024 college football season. He thinks that the Ohio State freshman stud wideout is going to be the freshman of the year this season. Jeyarajah said:
“Ohio State is going through a nearly unprecedented lineage of wideouts under receivers coach Brian Hartline, including reigning Biletnikoff winner Marvin Harrison Jr. If early reports are to be believed, Smith has a chance to be one of the best yet. Smith earned the No. 1 overall ranking in the Top247 rankings and rated as the top receiver recruit of the 247Sports era.
As a senior at Chaminade-Madonna Prep in Miami, Smith caught 88 passes for 1,376 yards and 19 touchdowns to lead his team to a third consecutive state championship. Since arriving on campus, Ohio State has done little to try to tame the hype. Smith became the fastest player to lose his black stripe in practice since the Buckeyes began the tradition. Ohio State has also shared plenty of highlights on its social accounts, including a freaky one-handed catch during spring practice.
Ohio State has a stacked wide receiver room, featuring All-Big Ten receiver Emeka Egbuka and former five-star recruit Carnell Tate. However, Smith gives the Buckeyes a truly special dynamic with his ability, which earns him Freshman of the Year honors.”
Ohio State has one of the best wide receiver trios in the entire country. None of the starting wide receivers are seniors this season. What’s scary is that this wide receiver trio could be together for at least two college football seasons in the Buckeye State.

Jeremiah Smith has a chance to turn heads during his freshman season with the Ohio State Buckeyes. They always land talented wide receivers. Matt Howard, the transfer from the Kansas State Wildcats, will be the starting quarterback this season for Ohio State. Smith is going to cause problems for opposing defenses from the first game of the 2024 season and beyond.
