The Ohio State Buckeyes will be starting a different quarterback for the third consecutive season under head coach Ryan Day. During the 2023 season, Kyle McCord was the starter and in 2024, Will Howard was the starter en route to a National Title.

Ohio State finished with a 10-2 record during the regular season and demolished everyone in their paths to a championship. For the 2025 season, it remains to be seen who will be the starting quarterback for the Buckeyes. There is an ongoing battle during spring football for the position.
Ohio State Buckeyes Head Coach Ryan Day Provides Update On Quarterback Battle

Lincoln Kienholz and Julian Sayin are competing for the starting quarterback job for the Buckeyes for the 2025 season. On Monday, the Buckeyes head coach provided an update on where the competition stands. Day said,
“Pretty much neck and neck.”
Sayin completed 41.7% of his passes for 84 yards and one touchdown in limited action during the 2024 season. Kienholz did not see the field at all during the 2024 season. On the depth chart for now, Sayin is projected to be the starting quarterback in 2025. Kienholz is projected to be the backup quarterback and incoming freshman Tavien St. Clair is projected to be the third string quarterback for Ohio State.

Of course it is. He doesn’t want one to transfer so what else is he gonna say?

It is not a surprise that Michigan Wolverines fans are trolling in the comments section about the Buckeyes quarterback battle. It is also a surprise that St. Clair is also not in the mix to start for Ohio State. Day will probably update the quarterback battle as the spring and summer progresses before the 2025 college football season begins.
