Garrett Wilson and Justin Fields were teammates with the Ohio State Buckeyes in 2019 and 2020. Fields was a first-round pick by the Chicago Bears in the 2021 NFL Draft.

Wilson was a first-round pick by the New York Jets in the 2022 NFL Draft. He has had different quarterbacks throughout his NFL career already. Fields has played for the Bears and also the Pittsburgh Steelers so far in his NFL career. With him signing a two-year deal worth $40 million with the Jets this offseason, Fields is reunited with Wilson like during their days in Columbus, Ohio.
Former Ohio State Buckeyes Star Garrett Wilson Talks About Playing With Justin Fields Back In 2022

There is no doubt that Wilson and Fields are going to look to have a connection on the Jets this season. Before the 2022 NFL Draft, the former Buckeyes wide receiver told reporters about wanting to reunite with Fields one day,
“If that would happen, that would be awesome. I haven’t really thought about where I’d be playing. Anywhere would be a blessing. Definitely, to link back up with Justin — and to do that on the NFL level — would be a dream come true, for sure.”
His wish came to fruition a few years later. With those two reunited, they will look to make the Jets a better football team next year. New York has not made the playoffs since 2010. Wilson last season with New York caught 101 passes for 1,104 yards receiving and seven touchdowns, along with averaging 10.9 yards per reception. Wilson also was targeted 154 times.
Fields last season with the Steelers completed 65.8% of his passes for 1,106 yards, five touchdowns, and one interception. He also rushed for 289 yards on 62 carries and five touchdowns, along with averaging 4.7 yards per carry. The former Ohio State Buckeyes stars will need to have a big 2025 season for the Jets.
