Hashtags on the site formerly known as Twitter have been a fantastic way of gathering like-minded individuals from all over the web. When it comes to Major League Baseball, there’s so much content going out that following a certain hashtag makes sure you’re in the know. It’s the same in the NFL!
Each year, Twitter does a cool thing where if you use a special hashtag, a little icon shows up. It’s just another fun way of interacting with fans of the same team. In this series, we will give out each of the hashtags for all eight divisions, starting with the AFC East.
Official AFC East Hashtags for the 2024 NFL Season
Buffalo Bills (#BillsMafia)
The Buffalo Bills are looking to build on their strong performances from previous seasons, aiming for a deeper playoff run in 2024. With quarterback Josh Allen at the helm, the offense remains explosive, bolstered by a talented receiving corps and a solid running game. This offseason, there were a lot of moving parts, including trading off Stefon Diggs to the Houston Texans.
With Allen, all things are possible. They had a solid draft and Keon Coleman looks like he can be a true WR1 for the offense. The defense will need to replace a lot, but they should be fine. Expect them to compete fiercely for the division title.
Miami Dolphins (#GoFins)
The Miami Dolphins are poised to make significant strides in the 2024 season, especially with Tua Tagovailoa‘s development as a quarterback. The addition of key offensive weapons and a more robust defense should help the Dolphins challenge for the top spot in the division. Their schedule appears favorable, allowing them to capitalize on early-season momentum. With a mix of young talent and experienced players, Miami is a team to watch.
It’s a track meet in Miami. Tyreek Hill is arguably the top wide receiver in the NFL and Jaylen Waddle could be the best WR2. At running back, Raheem Mostert and De’Von Achane were a lethal one-two punch a year ago. Defensively, Jalen Ramsey still holds down the corner position and Jaelan Phillips was having a breakout campaign last year before his injury. Miami will challenge Buffalo for the division.
New England Patriots (#NEPats)
The New England Patriots are in a rebuilding phase, focusing on developing their young talent while trying to remain competitive in the AFC East. With a new offensive scheme in place, the team hopes to revitalize its offense, which struggled last season. However, the Patriots face a challenging schedule, making it difficult to predict a significant turnaround. They will need to rely on their coaching staff to maximize their potential.
This is in no way predicting the division standings. The Patriots have a little work to do, namely figuring out if Drake Maye is going to be the guy at quarterback. They added to the receiver room with a pair of playmakers in the NFL Draft, so it could get interesting. The defense should still be solid and they have a chance to catch their Week 1 opponent, the Cincinnati Bengals, off-guard since that’s a franchise that has been starting slow of late.
New York Jets (#JetUp)
The New York Jets are optimistic heading into the 2024 season. The team has made significant roster improvements, particularly on offense, which should enhance their scoring potential. However, the Jets will need to address their defensive inconsistencies if they want to compete for a playoff spot. With a mix of excitement and pressure, the Jets are looking to make a statement this season.
Aaron Rodgers is back and healthy and, despite being what feels like 50 years old, he elevates this team to contender status. The roster as a whole is solid with Breece Hall and Garrett Wilson on offense and Sauce Gardner and Quinnen Williams on defense.
