Every off-season NFL teams make cuts and additions of players to try and build a championship contender. Also every off-season we try and predict which teams won or lost free agency and the draft. It’s what has made football an all year sport instead of just during the season. Here I’m not gonna be judging the team as a whole or grading the off-season moves. Instead we are going to look at every NFL teams 2022 free agency and NFL draft additions and pick the one whom will make the biggest impact on his team this season. Some might be no brainers and others controversial because it’s based on my view which may vary from others. We can’t fit all 32 teams in one article, so I’m making this a series broken up by NFL divisions. Here we will be in the AFC east to start the series.
Buffalo Bills – Von Miller
The Buffalo Bill most impactful addition is Von Miller. Miller tormented qbs and offensive lines for years in Denver before going to the Rams. With the Rams he racked up 9.5 sacks during the regular season and four more in their post season run. He won a Superbowl with Denver and with rams last year before choosing to take his talent to the Bills. The Bills defense was already top ten in the NFL last year so with Miller coming off the edge it will be terrifying.
Miami Dolphins- Tyreek Hill
Just like in Miami, there’s little debate over who is the new impact player for the Miami Dolphins. Dolphins gave up a bunch of draft picks and give hill a large $120 million contract to swing for the fences this year. Tyreek will be the most impactful new player but Dolphins success will still fall on whether Tua Tagavaloa is the franchise quarterback they need or not.
New England Patriots- Jabrill Peppers
New England Patriots is the hardest team for this article because of their underwhelming off-season. They really didn’t make a splash or improve alot but I would say Jabrill Peppers would be the newest impact player. He won’t likely start but he could see some decent field time if he picks his game up in this prove it deal he has with Patriots.
New York Jets- Ahmad Gardner
The Jets were difficult to pick one for a different reason than the Patriots. They made so many big moves and picked up so many good players that it is difficult to pick one. They are, on paper, the most improved NFL team and if I have to pick one most impactful player I’d go with Ahmad Gardner defensive back. Gardner was the Jets first pick in the 2022 NFL draft and they definitely hit a home run. Comments have been made that he has been taking snaps with the ones in camp and already locked down some first string receivers regularly.
These players I believe will have the biggest impacts on their teams this season. This is the most exciting year in the NFL that I have seen cause so many teams got better and so many big name players moved.
