As the college football season set in, all attention turned to Hard Rock Stadium in Florida, where Notre Dame will face the Miami Hurricanes this coming Sunday, 7:30 p.m. ET on ABC. The two programs are in a quest to gain national significance against each other.

Notre Dame head coach Marcus Freeman, while addressing the media on the issue of forecast call of temperature in the upper 80s and high humidity on the game day, He told the media: “If it happens to rain, our guys will be ready,” Stressing that his side has prepared and put in practice the necessary drill to play in such weather.

The predicted Wheater condition could dictate the outcome. Miami players are used to the tropical climate, giving the team a slight edge over the Fighting Irish, but Freeman, not giving in to excuses, has dismissed any major concern. He stressed that his side played on their road trip to Texas A&M last season in such conditions.

The Fighting Irish hold a 19-7-1 all-time lead over Miami. But in their last meeting in Florida, Miami dominated the game as Notre Dame suffered a humiliating 41-8 lost to the host, Freeman didn’t shy away from the history in his weekly press conference, he informed the reporters that the team has reviewed past games, and he made it clear that the focus is on execution rather than lamenting on the past losses.

Young Quarterbacks Face Off as Trenches Decide Fate in Season Opener

According to the AP poll preseason ranking, Notre Dame is currently ranked No. 6 over Miami, which is ranked No. 10. The team boasts a reloaded defense with talents like sophomore edge rusher Bryce Young and junior defensive tackle Donovan Hinish. On the offense side, the attention is on the Michigan recruit starting quarterback CJ Carr, and with him at the position is junior Kenny Minchey.

Reporter Tyler Horka shared the coach’s comment about Carr on his X handle: as he expressed his confidence and belief in the starting quarterback, he stated, “Everything he’s done in the past has told me he’ll be ready for this moment.” Freeman reportedly stated.

Miami, meanwhile, begins as a dark horse in the ACC, with the addition of quarterback Carson Beck, who transferred from Georgia.

Looking forward, Notre Dame will need to secure a victory in the collision to give the program a good head start. A triumph would propel the Fighting Irish toward an undefeated September, with home clashes against Purdue and Texas A&M that are around the corner.

No doubt this clash will test rosters. Should Miami upset the Irish, it would cement their top-10 hype and place them as the ACC’s leading program, so a win for either of the teams will definitely change the narratives.
