The Notre Dame Fighting Irish have a 9-1 record this season. As long as they win their final two games of the 2024 regular season, they should be in the college football playoffs and possibly host a first-round playoff game.
The Irish are not in a conference. Notre Dame has been one of the better college football teams this season. This week, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish will face the Army Black Knights and it could be a potential elimination game for the Irish if they were to lose.
Norte Dame Fighting Irish Ranked Sixth In the Latest College Football Playoffs Ranking
On Tuesday, the Irish were ranked sixth in the latest college football playoffs ranking. However, because of the way the seedings are for the playoffs this season, Notre Dame would be the eighth seed and host the ninth seed Alabama Crimson Tide.
The Irish and the Crimson Tide would be an interesting first-round matchup at the moment. Norte Dame Fighting Irish head coach Marcus Freeman has done a good job with the program this season. It is interesting how the Irish are on the verge of making the playoffs this season and Brian Kelly won’t make it with the LSU Tigers.

And yes, they played on a Tuesday night.
You lost to a team that plays on Tuesday nights.

Notre Dame if they played in the SEC or Big10 would be AT BEST a .500 football team fighting to get into the Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl.

It is not a surprise that there are trolls about the Notre Dame Fighting Irish football program. It is understandable because they had a really bad loss to the Northern Illinois Huskies earlier in the college football season. However, Notre Dame won’t be left out of the field if they were to finish the season with an 11-1 record.
