The Colorado Buffaloes have yet to win a college football game against a Division I FBS team since Oct. 7 of last year. The Buffaloes will get a chance to win at that level next week when they play Nebraska.
On Thursday night, the Buffaloes narrowly escaped with a 31-26 victory at home over North Dakota State, a Division I FCS team. Some fans think the game was rigged in the Buffaloes’ favor.
The game had several questionable calls go in each team’s favor. However, the Buffaloes had a few calls go their way near the end of the game.
The Colorado Buffaloes had a curious call go their way

On the Buffaloes’ final drive of the game, with NDSU needing a stop on third down, Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders underthrew a pass intended for LaJohntay Webster. NDSU was flagged for pass interference on the play, as the defender ran into Webster.
Had the play ended in an incomplete pass, NDSU would have had the ball back with about 1:45 remaining and a timeout. The penalty gave Colorado a first down. Colorado would bleed the clock down (after an inexcusable decision to throw an incompletion on first down) to 31 seconds before giving the ball back to NDSU.
NDSU ran out of time to score a game-winning touchdown and Colorado won.
Colorado was also helped by a missed targeting call on NDSU’s last drive, and a favorable start of the clock after a completed first down.
College football fans claim the game was “rigged”

Colorado was penalized three times for 30 yards. NDSU was penalized five times for 44 yards. Many fans think the game was rigged in Colorado’s favor so there will be more hype around the program in the early season. Colorado’s early success drew high ratings last year.
Here are the best takes of fans calling Colorado’s win over NDSU rigged.

Colorado won because of a fake PI, the ref running 4 seconds off the clock, and not reviewing a targeting call at the end…
against an FCS team by 5….
Garbage

Colorado gets bailed out by a PI and they’ll think they did something

North Dakota State got absolutely screwed tonight. No surprise the NCAA rigs it for Colorado to win – always need a story! Total joke and disgrace. Not calling targeting on that 2nd or 3rd last play? Absolutely mind boggling! #rigged #NCAAisrigged

Colorado vs North Dakota State had to of been the most rigged game I’ve ever seen and it’s not close.

On my life refs rigged that for Colorado, especially the last drive. Clock had 15 seconds and they haven’t snapped the ball yet, they start the clock, and then they only have 9 seconds when they actually snap it 💀

Refs rigged the hell out of that Colorado game ending, running the clock after a first w the ball not set is a pathetic standard.
