The North Carolina Tar Heels are beginning a new chapter in their program — and so is Bill Belichick regarding his coaching career. Belichick, who has been hired by North Carolina football to be its head coach back in December, is now busy helping the Tar Heels prepare for the upcoming 2025 campaign.
Belichick’s arrival in Chapel Hill has certainly garnered plenty of attention. Even rap superstar Lil Wayne recently dropped by the Tar Heels’ spring practice.
What’s more, Weezy and Belichick got to take a picture together, which was posted on X (formerly Twitter) by the Tar Heels.

Who knew that in the year 2025, Belichick would coach a college football team and have a photo taken with him and Lil Wayne?
In any case, fans online have all sorts of reactions to that photo.
“2 of the greatest to ever do it,” a fan said.
“Wayne looks healthy good to see 🐐,” another one shared.
“The collab we didn’t know we needed,” commented a social media user.
From another fan on X: “If someone told you 5 years ago what was going on here in this picture, You wouldn’t believe it.”
Via a different commenter: “I mean. I wouldn’t call lil weeezie a legend but he is a GOAT 😂.”

Bill Belichick looking to work his magic with the North Carolina Tar Heels

Belichick’s legendary football resume is entirely because of what he did in the professional ranks. A six-time Super Bowl champion as the head coach of the New England Patriots and a three-time winner of the Associated Press NFL Coach of the Year award, Belichick is someone who’s simply viewed as a football coaching demigod.
But it remains to be seen what kind of impact he can have on North Carolina football, which finished 6-7 overall in the 2024 NFL campaign — Mack Brown’s last as the program’s head coach.
