Bill Belichick is entering a new phase of his football career. After decades in the NFL, and becoming arguably the greatest coach in league history, Belichick has taken on the task of building the football program at North Carolina.
The former New England Patriots head coach, and six-time Super Bowl winner, at 72 years old, certainly did not seem like the kind of person who would embrace such a new challenge. However, the lack of interest from other NFL teams following his dismissal from the Patriots did not leave him with many coaching options.
Bill Belichick Has Made Waves Because of His Girlfriend
For months, Belichick has been in the headlines for reasons off of the gridiron. Of course, this is because of his relationship with Jordon Hudson, who is currently 24 years old.
The couple first met in 2021 on a flight when Belichick was 68 and Hudson was 20. They began dating in 2023, though they did not make their relationship public until 2024.
Their relationship as been the subject of many conversations and, to be frank, jokes ever since it was made public. During Netflix’s roast of Tom Brady, many of Belichick’s former players on the Patriots made cracks about their age-gap.
“Coach, you used to talk about Foxborough High School when we sucked. But now I know why you were so obsessed with Foxborough High School: you were scouting your new girlfriend,” Rob Gronkowski quipped.
Tom Brady also joked, “When somebody asked me which ring was my favorite, I used to say, ‘The next one.’ Now that I’m retired, my favorite is that Ring camera that caught Coach Belichick slinking out of that poor girl’s house at 6 a.m. a few months ago.”
North Carolina Fans Go Crazy on Social Media After Bill Belichick’s Girlfriend Was Spotted at Practice
North Carolina players recently reported for spring practices. This will be the first of such sessions with Belichick as head coach and, therefore, their first impression of him in a camp-like setting.
And while this should have been a time free of distraction, Tar Heels fans are not sure Belichick’s girlfriend being there is exactly the right move to accomplish this:

It will be interesting to see how well the Tar Heels play this year, as well as how much Belichick’s girlfriend is covered along with the team.
