In past years, when Alabama saw Vanderbilt on their schedule, they wrote down a big W in the win column before the game started. Still, this time around, hopefully, the Crimson Tide didn’t get ahead of themselves because they fell to the Commodores.
Vanderbilt has been one of the worst teams in college football for a while now. Whenever an opposing SEC team comes to their stadium, their fans take over the entire thing.
Nick Saban Makes Fun Of Vanderbilt
The Commodores do not have home-field advantage, and even Alabama’s former head coach, Nick Saban, made fun of them a few weeks ago.
During the Pat McAfee a few Fridays ago, Saban took a shot at Vanderbilt, stating, “The only place you play in the SEC that’s not hard to play is Vanderbilt”

It turns out that Saban was wrong because his former team couldn’t win, and it wasn’t easy after all.
Saban never lost a game to the Commodores when he was coaching Alabama. Still, the Crimson Tide’s new head coach, Kalen DeBoer, didn’t get so lucky, and now everyone will be comparing the two that one never lost to Vandy while the other one lost in their first road SEC game.
It seems like Saban’s comments put a curse on the team, and an Alabama loss felt like it would happen after what Saban said a few weeks ago.
It was awesome to see Vanderbilt get some love in the college football world after so many years of getting punched by so many people. All Commodores players and fans are going to have a fun week celebrating.
