Former Alabama football head coach Nick Saban had a photo of him go viral on Saturday night. Saban was caught on camera in the pressbox watching his former team defeat Georgia in a 41-34 thriller on Saturday night.
Nick Saban was stoic when Alabama football took a large lead
The game wasn’t that close late in the second quarter. Georgia came out sluggish, and Alabama took advantage of quarterback Carson Beck’s miscues to take a 30-7 halftime lead. Per a caption of a photo posted by Fox Sports on X, Saban was caught looking business-like when Alabama went up 27-0 on their rival.

Saban was 8-2 against Georgia in his career with the Crimson Tide. He won his final matchup against Kirby Smart in a 27-24 nailbiter during last year’s SEC Championship.
Georgia didn’t go away quietly
Saban’s facial expression showed he didn’t want to celebrate too prematurely, as he knew Georgia wasn’t going away after halftime. (Or he didn’t want to be shown up by his successor, Kalen DeBoer.)
Georgia would fight back to take a 34-33 lead late in the fourth quarter. But Alabama would immediately take the lead on their penultimate possession. Beck threw an interception in the endzone to officially hand Alabama their fourth win of the season.
While the rest of the Alabama crowd was celebrating like they won the game after their fourth touchdown, Saban remained stoic in his seat. The game’s second-half hysterics wouldn’t be a surprise to the seven-time national championship-winning head coach.
