On Tuesday, the Philadelphia Eagles added depth to the interior part of their offensive line. They are set to sign a veteran center who has played for two of the Eagles’ NFC East rivals, the New York Giants and Washington Commanders.
Jason Kelce was a big loss at center this year
The Eagles lost their star center, Jason Kelce, this offseason due to retirement. Per Our Lads, Cam Jurgens is listed as the starting center on the Eagles depth chart. Brett Toth is penciled in as Jurgens’ backup.
The Philadelphia Eagles signed Nick Gates
According to Mike Garafolo with the NFL Network, the Eagles are signing veteran center Nick Gates.

The Giants signed Gates as an undrafted free agent following the 2018 NFL Draft. He spent the 2018-22 seasons with the Giants. He played for the Commanders last season.
Gates has appeared in 57 games and started 39 games. Per Pro Football Focus, Gates earned a 66.1 overall grade for his blocking last season and a 70.9 grade for his run blocking. He gave up five sacks and 21 total pressures on 455 pass-blocking attempts
