Deshaun Watson has been a hot topic in NFL circles the last few seasons regarding his work both on and off the field. The former first-round pick better turn things around on the field this season, or his career could end quickly.
NFL Reporter Predicts Deshaun Watson To Have An Average Season

GARY DAVENPORT from Bleacher Report published an article on Thursday titled 2024 Stat Predictions For Every Starting NFL QB, which placed Watson in the middle of the pack.
Davenport predicted a 63.8 completion percentage, 4,101 passing yards, 26 touchdowns, 12 interceptions, 420 rushing yards, and four rushing touchdowns for the Browns quarterback, and this is what he wrote about the veteran.
The Cleveland Browns mortgaged their future to obtain Deshaun Watson—both financially and in terms of draft capital. So far, the return has been almost laughably bad—Watson has missed 22 games over the past two seasons and hasn’t played especially well when he has been healthy.
Given those struggles, it’s hard to take too much solace in Kevin Stefanski’s comments about Watson’s progress from shoulder surgery.
“He looked like himself to me,” Stefanski told reporters. “I’ve been able to watch him the last couple of weeks now that we’ve gotten into Phase Two, so I’ve seen him throw. He’s making great progress. We will continue to just follow the medical team on this, but he looks like himself.”
With the offseason addition of Jerry Jeudy, the Browns aren’t short on passing-game firepower. Cleveland’s offensive line is among the league’s best. This was an 11-win team last year despite a revolving door of mediocre quarterbacks.
This is a make-or-break season for the 28-year-old—fully guaranteed contract or not.
Watson Has Only Thrown 12 INTs Once In His NFL Career

One of the eye-opening stats Davenport predicted was Watson throwing 12 interceptions, which he only did once, back in 2019. The former Clemson star is usually good at not turning over the football. He was one of the best quarterbacks last season before he got injured and missed the rest of the year in the middle of November at non-turnover-worthy plays.

Watson should be able to handle the ball this season, and Browns fans shouldn’t worry about him throwing interceptions. They need to worry about whether he can return to his old form, which we saw in Houston, and if he can win the Browns’ major games.
