Washington Commanders owner Magic Johnson went on Jimmy Kimmel Live this week to talk about his new role as an NFL owner and the Taylor Swift craze. The basketball legend had nothing but touching remarks when talking about Swift and Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce‘s relationship and even joked around a little bit.

Magic Johnson Comments
Johnson said that the league “is very happy about that whole situation” when talking about the Swift and Kelce relationship. He started joking around a little bit saying, “By the way, get one of those Commanders to date Taylor Swift. It seems like you make so much money.” Overall, he had nothing but good things to say about their relationship and gave them his support.
Johnson is in his first year as a co-owner in the league and has brought a new culture to Washington. He is a a part of the ownership group led by Josh Harris who bought the team this past offseason from previous controversial owner Dan Snyder. Since then, the culture in Washington has visibly changed for the better.
Taylor Swift & Travis Kelce Romance
Kelce and Swift’s relationship story began back in July of this year when he tried to hand her a friendship bracelet with his phone number on it during her concert in Kansas City. He ultimately failed in this attempt to ask her out, but that did not stop the star player from trying again.
Kelce then invited her to come to one of their games this season, and Swift accepted the offer this time to come and watch Kelce in action against the Chicago Bears. NFL fans and Swifties were both in shock as they saw the pop star in Arrowhead Stadium cheering on Kelce from a suite standing right next to his mom.
Since then, Swift has attended many Chiefs’ games this season, and it has had a positive impact on the NFL. Kelce’s jersey sales skyrocketed to a 400% increase and a massive increase in Chiefs tickets sold since their rumored romance began. Their relationship is no secret anymore, however, and now we all get to see just how far this “Love Story” will go.
