Here are some promising young rookies that you should keep an eye out for this upcoming NFL season…
#1 Travon Walker
Walker is a guy who really reminds me a lot of someone like a Von Miller. His elite versatility is one of his strong suits. He’s lightning quick, and can drop back into coverage if called upon. He’s also very explosive coming off the line, and is strong enough to make that crucial stop on 4th and one. He can pretty much play just about anywhere, which is another reason why we saw him get drafted first overall. As long as he can stay healthy, he’ll become a much needed asset to this Jaguars defense.
#2 Kayvon Thibodeaux
This player was once valued as the number one overall pick. But just because he fell a few picks in the draft, it shouldn’t deter you away from his overall potential. If anything, many are calling him the biggest steal of the first round. He’s arguably the best edge rusher in his class, and will make a great addition to a leaky, New York Giants defense. With Leonard Williams on one end of the line, and Thibodeaux on the other, you can expect a lot out of these two come the regular season.
#3 Kenny Pickett
Talk about having home field advantage. You go out and play all your college games on Heinz field, only to then get drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers. You really couldn’t ask for a better situation if you’re Kenny Pickett. Mitch Trubisky may be the starting quarterback as of right now, and he very well might be the starter come week one. But when mid season comes rolling around the corner, Pickett should be more than ready to answer the call if Tomlin calls his number. He’s the most NFL ready QB in my book, and will make some waves in the AFC North this year.
#4 Christian Watson
Sorry Packers fans, not too many people can replace a guy like Davante Adams. But on the bright side, Christian Watson has all of the intangibles to fit his mold. Believe it or not, he’s faster, taller, and lighter than Davante Adams. He has the tools he needs to become Rodgers’ next go-to guy. I know there’s been a lot of talk about ARod still not having a first round receiver to throw to, but trust me, Watson is the closing thing to it. There’s a lot to be excited for if you’re a fan of the Green Bay Packers.
