NFL Pride Month was officially launched by the league, and analyst and critic Jason Whitlock had something to say about the “blackmailing” and “mafia” the league has fallen into.

In a recent episode of his program “Fearless,” Jason Whitlock gave his honest take on his theory as to the reality of the NFL Pride Month, and with the league always having a say on issues unrelated to the sport.

“Many of you, when I say this, you go, ‘Oh, there you go with your tinfoil hat. You conspiracy theorist. You’re an idiot.’ Blah, blah, blah. You’re a joke, Whitlock. I’m also right,” Whitlock said. “The NFL has been blackmailed by the concussion controversy. The manufactured concussion controversy has Roger Goodell and the National Football League and their ownership group on their knees. The mainstream legacy media drove this concussion narrative and focused all this attention on head injuries in the National Football League as a way of pressuring the NFL.”

“And so, if they can leverage the NFL to adopt all the woke leftist Marxist agenda and messaging, how can we get the NFL on board with Black Lives Matter? How can we get the NFL on board with the LGBTQIA+ silent P alphabet mafia? We keep distorting and focusing in on concussions in the media, and then we offer them, hey, we’ll back off the concussion conversation.”

“We know we’ve created and manufactured this whole deal. We’ll back off of it if you’ll hop on board with the BLM LGBTQIA+ silent P alphabet mafia. And that’s what has happened.”

Former WR Criticizes NFL Pride Month

NFL Pride Month sparked controversy this year after former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant criticized the league’s messaging on social media. The NFL’s official post included statements such as “Football is gay,” “Football is queer,” and “Football is transgender,” aiming to highlight inclusivity within the sport.

However, Bryant took issue with the phrasing, arguing that it was an unnecessary overreach. While he clarified that he has no problem with LGBTQ+ individuals, he expressed concern about how the messaging might be perceived, particularly by younger audiences.

Bryant’s comments ignited debate online, with some supporting his stance and others defending the NFL’s approach to inclusivity. The league has been increasingly vocal in its support of LGBTQ+ rights, partnering with GLAAD for events like A Night of Pride during the lead-up to Super Bowl LIX.

The discussion surrounding NFL Pride Month reflects broader conversations about representation in professional sports. While some view the league’s efforts as progressive and necessary, others—like Bryant—believe that football should remain neutral on social identity issues.
