NFL GOAT and former New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady isn’t one to mince on words, if given the chance. Just recently, though, the sports analyst did just that on New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones.
During a panel discussion at the Fanatics Fest in Manhattan, Brady took a playful jab at Jones. Appearing alongside ESPN analyst Stephen A. Smith, Brady discussed how he plans to critique quarterback play in his upcoming role with Fox Sports.
Jones, who is entering a crucial year with the Giants, had a severe regression in 2023, throwing just two touchdowns against six interceptions in six games while battling neck and knee injuries. Brady’s comments, though lighthearted, highlight the scrutiny that Jones will face as he looks to bounce back and lead the Giants to success in the upcoming season.
The exchange between Brady and Smith at the Fanatics Fest serves as a preview of the type of quarterback analysis and commentary that fans can expect from the seven-time Super Bowl champion when he joins Fox’s broadcast team. Known for his competitive nature and unparalleled success on the field, Brady is poised to bring a unique perspective and keen eye for detail to his new role as a football analyst.
Fans React To NFL Goat Tom Brady’s Shade at New York Quarterback Daniel Jones
Just recently, a video of Brady’s shade on Jones was posted by Dov Kleiman on his official X account. From there, fans took to the post and expressed their thoughts about the matter.
“Let’s say Daniel Jones throws an interception. I didn’t mean to say it like that. I wasn’t even being critical of Daniel Jones… maybe I was a little,” Brady said.

“He knows he can’t joke about his father Eli,” Phil said.
“Tom is still bitter, I see,” Gridiron Media tweeted.
“Tom is still bitter, I see,” jffNFL11 posted.
“What Tom fails to realize that Daniel is a actually a more effective QB than he ever was when assessed on a ceteris paribus basis. Tom benefited from an incredible amount of talent around him that Daniel has not had the pleasure of experiencing. Not even close,” Harrison P. Kent IV mentioned.
“His daddy Eil will have Jones back,” Gerrald17_ reacted.
“Bro hates the giants,” Alex expressed.
“Brady can talk all he wants—seven rings speak louder than anything Jones has done so far. This isn’t even a fair fight,” Nekole remarked.
The Giants’ victories over Brady in the Super Bowl are a source of frustration for the veteran quarterback. Jones will look to rebound in his sixth season with the Giants, after an injury-plagued 2023 campaign saw him struggle to recapture his previous form.
As Jones and the Giants prepare for their season opener against the Minnesota Vikings next month, the pressure will be on to prove their worth and silence the critics, including a certain future Hall of Famer who has already started needling the young quarterback.
