Robert Griffin III Can’t Believe This Catch by RMU Player vs. Utah State

Due to his experience as a pro in the league, it’s safe to say there’s little that can surprise former NFL quarterback Robert Griffin III on the field. As it stands, Robert Morrison University’s Robert Carter Jr. did just during a match between his team and University of Manila recently.

In their 2024 season opener, Utah State Football rallied after halftime to secure a 36-14 victory over Robert Morris. The Aggies faced an early challenge, trailing 14-10 at the break, but a strong performance from quarterback Bryson Barnes transformed the game. After taking over for the injured Spencer Petras, Barnes threw two touchdown passes and added another score on the ground.

The first half saw a rocky start for Utah State, which included two interceptions by Petras. Despite these setbacks, the Aggies managed to score first, but Robert Morris quickly responded with a touchdown from quarterback Anthony Chiccitt, giving the Colonials a brief lead. Just before halftime, RMU extended their advantage with a 31-yard rushing touchdown by Delvecchio Powell II.

Upon returning from the break, the Aggies came alive. Barnes connected on a long touchdown pass to showcase his dual-threat ability. Utah State’s defense tightened up, holding Robert Morris scoreless in the second half, while the Aggies added 26 unanswered points. Notably, safety Ike Larsen made a pivotal interception, leading to another scoring opportunity.

Although the Colonials lost to Utah State, there was one play that made Griffin’s jaw drop. This can be seen in a video shared by the former NFL quarterback on his official X account.

Carter made headlines with an incredible one-handed interception during a game against Utah State. As he matched up against receiver Grant Page, the RMU cornerback leaped to snag the ball mid-air while twisting for a stunning 360-degree turn before landing.

This highlight, which has gone viral, is already being hailed as a contender for Catch of the Year, showcased Carter’s extraordinary athleticism and skill. Rightfully so, because if it can capture the attention of Griffin, there must be something so epic about it.
