Without doubt, four-time NBA champion LeBron James is truly a once-in-a-generation athlete after all the things he accomplished in the NBA. For former New England Patriots star Rob Gronkowski, though, the Los Angeles Lakers forward could have had an insane run playing in the NFL if things turned out differently.
James, widely regarded as one of the greatest basketball players of all time, has had an illustrious professional career spanning nearly two decades. Born in Akron, Ohio, James was the first overall pick in the 2003 NBA Draft, selected by the Cleveland Cavaliers. He quickly emerged as a dominant force, earning Rookie of the Year honors in 2004 and rapidly ascended to superstardom, leading the Cavaliers to the playoffs in each of his first seven seasons.

In 2010, James made the controversial decision to leave the Cavaliers and join the Miami Heat, where he won two NBA championships in 2012 and 2013. He returned to the Cavaliers in 2014 and led the team to its first-ever NBA title in 2016, ending Cleveland’s 52-year championship drought.
Since 2018, James has played for the Los Angeles Lakers, adding two more NBA titles to his resume in 2020 and 2023. He has been named NBA MVP four times, NBA Finals MVP four times, and has been selected to the NBA All-Star team a record 20 times. Known for his exceptional basketball IQ, versatility, and physical dominance, James has cemented his legacy as one of the greatest players in NBA history.
Former NFL Star Rob Gronkowski Reveals One Wish He Has for Los Angeles Lakers Star LeBron James

Like James, Gronkowski has achieved a lot during his time playing in the NFL. But in a recent interview with former Julian Edelman he shared on his official X account, Gronk reveals one wish he has for the NBA’s all-time leading scorer.
There is still time!! @KingJames https://t.co/3DJz6Gh1SX

Throughout his NBA career, James has displayed incredible longevity, athleticism, passing, and high basketball IQ, among others. If those traits are translated to the NFL, the Lakers star has the potential to become an accomplished quarterback.

Although James playing in the NFL is going to break the internet, the NBA champion will soon turn 40 and time will be against him if he makes the jump from the NBA. Nevertheless, Gronk makes a good case for the Lakers forward to give football a try.
