The NFL has one rule that the soon-to-be President of the United States thinks is ‘ridiculous’ and that it has to go. Donald Trump has made many comments throughout his life on the NFL and has a storied history of trying to become one of their owners. When Trump gets back into office as the 47th President, he may change a league rule.
Donald Trump Needs One Major Rule Change
While Trump has yet to be inducted into office just yet he’s been voicing an issue that he has had with the NFL since the beginning of this year, and fans are strangely all in agreement with the President about this one rule.
Trump has many NFL players who support him, most notably Nick Bosa who wore a MAGA hat when he crashed a post-game interview. Trump commented on Bosa saying:
“Nick Bosa is a great player,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

However, he had additional comments about one rule in particular that he wants the league to get rid off as quickly as possible. On Sunday afternoon Trump took to social media to sound off on the new league’s kickoff rule:
“The NFL should get rid of the ridiculous new Kickoff Rule!” Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social on Sunday.
Trump is not the only one to not like the league’s new kickoff rule that was adopted from the XFL. The league has tried to say that this is after, but so far there has not been too much evidence for that either. They may as well get rid of kickoffs all together if it is about safety.
This is not the first time that the President has sounded off against this rule as he just did the same thing earlier in the football season when he was on the “Let’s Go!” podcast with sportscaster Jim Gray and former head coach Bill Belichick:
“I will tell you, I watch football now, and I see that kickoff, and it looks weird to me,” Trump said before Election Day. “That thing looks weird, coach. I hope you like it but I think it hurts the game. I think when you have something good, you don’t change it.
“And, I don’t see why it’s safer. Why is it safer? They’re still crashing. … I looked at that a few weeks ago for the first time and I said, what the hell are they doing to football?”
Trump has been on this kickoff rule from the start:
“I can’t believe the NFL is effectively getting rid of the always exciting Kick Off Return. Such an exciting part of football. What are they doing? BEGINNING OF THE END!”
NFL fans, for the most part, all in agreement about this new kickoff rule, and it seems unanimous that the fans don’t like it:
“He’s actually right. It sucks,” one fan wrote.
“Now I’m for it,” one fan wrote.
“If he’d ran on this it would’ve been even more of a landslide,” one fan added.
“Executive order on Jan 20th to return the other kick please!!!” one fan added.
“It’s ok, but they need to increase the penalty for kicking it through the end zone. Make them return basically every kick,” one fan added.
If tons of NFL fans are in agreement with Donald, it may be wise for the league to get rid of the rule, and either go back to the way it was or just get rid of it entirely as we are on the way to flag football anyway sooner than later.
