This is truly the age of quarterbacks in the NFL, and there are none better to give their rankings than some of the best to have ever done it. Peyton Manning, the general himself, knows good quarterback play when he sees it, and he has given his best 5 heading into the season this year.
Beyond Patrick Mahomes, the top list can get a bit subjective and while it can get very difficult to narrow down the top 5, it is hard to argue with Peyton when it comes to this.
Peyton Manning Ranks Top 5 Quarterbacks
While many fans would usually argue with any top-five list, the Sherrif is not one to argue with. His opinions of quarterback play carry tons of weight across the board. He is not only one of the best to ever do it, but he is someone who calls NFL games weekly, and constantly studies the game. He is one of the most well-versed individuals when it comes to the position of quarterback.
This past weekend, Peyton participated with a bunch of other legends in “Fanatics Fest” in New York City. In one of the panels, he was asked to name the top five quarterbacks from his perspective in the NFL.
It comes as no surprise that Patrick Mahomes was named first, as he is the standard that everyone else is climbing towards at the moment. He followed the back-to-back champion Mahomes with Joe Burrow, Justin Herbert, Lamar Jackson, and Josh Allen:

In the video above, Peyton did not rank any of the quarterbacks from No. 2-5 after the clear number one Mahomes. We will allow the fans to discuss exactly where the rest of them rank after Mahomes, however, many analysts around the league would not put Herbert in there with the rest of that group.
C.J. Stroud is also coming off one of, if not the best, rookie year ever, and many would feel like he already deserves to be on that list. However, it is hard to argue with Peyton when it comes to this, as he is a genius.
The list overall is correct with at least four of those names being included in almost everyone’s rankings, the only people that may be freaking out are the Aaron Rodgers fans.
NFL Fans All Have To Agree To Peyton Manning’s Rankings
NFL fans may be a rowdy bunch, but none of them would have the gaw to disagree with Peyton Manning on a quarterback take. So it seems that any fan who may not have had this list before will not be parroting off this same list.
“Football god has spoken,” a fan wrote. “If you disagree argue with a wall”
“Aka the NFC is absolute trash,” a fan said of Manning naming five AFC quarterbacks.
“Can’t argue with The Sheriff,” a fan declared.
“Justin Hebert has bamboozled the entire NFL and I would like to know how and why,” another fan argued.
“Herb got the Peyton Manning stamp,” a fan stated. “Wow.”
While many fans may not think as highly of Herbert, his stats and talent jump off the screen as he has totaled: 17,223 passing yards third in the league, and the fourth-most passing touchdowns (114) since entering the league.
Manning says that Herbert “is as talented as anybody” and now that he has Jim Harbaugh, the sky is the limit for how far he can go.
While a lot of these exercises are completely subjective, it is also hard to make a case against what Peyton has to say. We will have to wait and see who will be the best this year, but it is almost certain that the MVP will come from this list.
