NFL fans are in an intense debate surrounding the future of Joe Burrow in the league. This all started after the Cincinnati Bengals fell in their week 1 matchup with the New England Patriots. The Bengals were a huge favorite to win the game, but the Patriots defense locked up Burrow and the offense throughout the entire game.
Now, a viral video has sparked a debate amongst fans about whether Burrow has fully healed from his wrist injury that had to be surgically repaired last season.
Has Joe Burrow Fully Healed Just Yet?
Burrow has always struggled in the beginning of seasons throughout his career, but Sunday was a special struggle. The star quarterback had a decent completion percentage, going 21 for 29 but for only 164 yards. He seemed to be checking his wrist strength throughout the game.
When asked about his struggles and if it had to do with his injury, Burrow shrugged it off and gave credit to the Patriots’ defense as the reason for the team’s struggles on Sunday:
“They were doing a good job keeping everything in front,” Burrow said, via Bengals Wire. “I’ve got to take what the defense gives me.”
At many times throughout the game, CBS caught Burrow on the bench checking his wrist strength. Fans are now debating if he was feeling any discomfort or just trying to break off some rust from the injury and last season.
These moments caught on camera have sent NFL fans into a strong debate about Burrow and his future this season. One of the main areas of conflict is when Burrow goes to pick up his water bottle. Some fans think he had trouble picking it up while others think he just tossed it to himself.
Here is the now-viral video of moments in the game that Burrow was checking his wrist:

NFL Fans In Debate Over Joe Burrow Viral Video
Many fans are certain that Burrow will be fine, and that this video is making something out of nothing, while other fans have raised major concerns for the star quarterback’s future in the league as this injury is beyond rare for football players.
The injury is the wrist of his throwing hand, and whether or not he is fine, it will take time to get back to his dominant self. They will face the Kansas City Chiefs this week and could start 0-2. They will get a stretch of two easier games after, but we will have to wait and see how Burrow progresses coming off of this rare injury.
Fans are up in debate about whether it’s time to hit the panic button, or if things are just fine:
I watched CIN/Joe Burrow:
1. Got an early test of placing his right hand down to recover a fumble. Did fine with it
2. Good velocity/accuracy on throws <8 yards
3. Good velocity/accuracy on throws <15-18 yards
4. The TD pass (bobbled) to Gesicki in the corner for 15 yards was… pic.twitter.com/WefpHX6MfT

“The thing is, this is such a rare injury, no one knows how this will turn out sir or long term,” one fan tweeted. “Good luck to Joe.”
“That wrist is cooked,” another fan said.
“His career might be over he definitely isn’t top 15 in the league with that wrist
What do you make of these clips? Is he completely fine, or is this a reason for concern?
