NFL fans are all looking at Aaron Rodgers after the New York Jets dealt another shocking firing, this time they fired their general manager Joe Douglas. The Jets are probably the biggest circus in the league today, and this season has been one of the biggest embarrassments in league history with the expectations that everyone had when Rodgers went to New York.
Rodgers was reportedly involved in their head coach Robert Saleh getting fired, and now their general manager is gone as well as the team continues to slide to the bottom of the league.
New York Jets Announce Firing of General Manager
On Tuesday, following another brutal game from Rodgers, the team fired their general manager. He was with the team for 6 seasons, and after bringing Rodgers in and listening to everything Rodgers wanted, he is now without a job.
It is quite crazy that everyone running the organization is getting fired for Rodgers, and he has not been good this season. He has not been good for three years actually, and Saleh and Douglas are just scapegoats for his awful play. Douglas should anyway be fired, even though he is not the main issue, as the team has failed to sniff the playoffs since he got there.
This Jets team is not going anywhere any time soon, and where do they even go from here with a 40-year-old quarterback?
More change in New York: Jets now have fired GM Joe Douglas, sources tell ESPN.

Rodgers has been getting everything he wants, literally. He has gotten all the receivers and playmakers he asked for, who have almost all come from the Green Bay Packers where he previously played, and that has amounted to a 3-8 record, and a 1-5 record since letting their head coach go.
Fans and analysts are all ripping the quarterback and the team, as they deserve:
“The 2024 New York Jets are one of the biggest jokes in NFL history. Everyone gets held accountable besides Aaron Rodgers. My guess is Rodgers is back next year and whoever replaces Robert Saleh and Joe Douglas will be emasculated until Aaron is off the team,” one user wrote.
“Aaron Rodgers to the Jets will be talked about for generations as one of the worst personnel decisions in history,” wrote another.
“The #Jets should just hire Aaron Rodgers to be their head coach and general manager next year. He was already the de facto HC & GM for the past two seasons,” a third mused.
“Laughing stock,” added ESPN’s Dan Orlovsky.
“It’s been a bad 7 decades but this might be rock bottom,” another person said.
“I liked Douglas but he had to go! Jets need to clean out everyone down to the damn ball boy and janitor. Every last person needs to go.” a Jets fan chimed in.
“Joe Douglas is too good for the #Jets. Another dumb move for a franchise that has its head shoved so far up its own a– it’s remarkable. In under three years Joe Douglas will be reviving a franchise and the Jets will still be rebuilding. What a joke,” a second Jets fan countered.
The team has been in shambles for a long time, but fans really feel that this is the worst it’s ever been given the expectations that this team had. They really have many stars everywhere, but that has not amounted to any good wins.
It’s sad to see a fan base in such turmoil, and this Jets team really has nowhere to go from here. Rodgers has said that he wants to stay another year, and that may mean another year of this circus. No coach or GM would want to go near this team, and rightfully so.
The Jets are not heading to the playoffs anytime soon, and as long as Rodgers is there, this fan base will be in shambles.
