NFL fans are all taking to social media to react to a bit of an accidental Tweet by The Pope. Pope Francis shared an encouraging message on social media to celebrate All Saints’ Day. In an amusing twist, though, his message inadvertently included a hashtag that activated the New Orleans Saints logo.
NFL Fans All Have Comdic Reactions To Pope Francis’ Tweet
Each NFL team has its own custom hashtag during the season, which includes its logo. Clearly, Pope Francis hadn’t intended to refer to the New Orleans Saints in his post, but as soon as he used “#Saints,” the team’s icon appeared alongside his message.
The #Saints are formed by the Beatitudes: poor, meek, merciful, hungering and thirsting for justice, seeking peace. They are “filled with God” and incapable of remaining indifferent to the needs of their neighbour. They bear witness to paths of light that we too can trod.

“The #Saints are formed by the Beatitudes: poor, meek, merciful, hungering and thirsting for justice, seeking peace,” Pope Francis wrote on X. “They are ‘filled with God’ and incapable of remaining indifferent to the needs of their neighbour. They bear witness to paths of light that we too can trod.”
The moment that the Pope sent this Tweet out, tons of NFL fans were commenting on the post with comedic reactions to the mistake:
Your holiness can I get a #boltup one time 🙏

You fired Benedict, why you can’t #firedennisallen too?

“Not to be that guy, but I’m not even sure your blessings are gonna help that team right now,” one person said.
Another person replied, “Your Holiness, they are 2-6.”
“He’s dressing it up, but the Pope is clearly saying Dennis Allen should be fired here,” a third person tweeted.
The Saints are in desperate need of a turnaround. They began the season strong with decisive victories over the Panthers and Cowboys, only to skid into a six-game losing streak that’s left them at 2-6, with slim playoff hopes.
Fans are growing impatient, urging the front office to make a decision on head coach Dennis Allen, whose career record stands at a rough 26-52. While he showed potential by leading the team to a 9-8 record at the close of the 2023 season, his recent performance has left much to be desired.
While other teams in their division have been on the rise, the Saints have been on a downward trajectory. They may be heading in t anew direction at head coach next year.
This Sunday, the Saints aim to break their losing streak against the Panthers. Although their offense has struggled, they’re still favored by a touchdown heading into the matchup.
