The NFL bombshell suspension has fans chiming in on social media on Monday. The Pittsburgh Steelers will be without their cornerback Cam Sutton for the first half of the 2024 season, as he was suspended for some disturbing behavior off the field in a domestic violence case.
The Steelers signed Sutton to just a one year contract, and that may be in jeopardy now with the suspension. Sutton violated the leagues personal conduct policy, and per Jordan Sigler of Gridiron Heroics:
As previously discussed on GH, the Lions released Cameron Sutton in March after an arrest warrant was issued. He was wanted on charges of aggravated battery-domestic violence.

Sutton was punished because of his arrest for battery involved in a domestic violence case in March of last year. After being cut by the Lions for this, he signed to the Steelers for a year. We will have to wait and see if he ends up getting cut from Pittsburgh as well.
Fans had many different reactions to this news, mainly being that the punishment by the league was deserving. Fans were also interested as to why the Steelers took this gamble on Sutton knowing that he would end up facing significant consequences for his off the field issues.
NFL Fans React To The Monstrous Suspension

Fans were very quick to social media to share their opinions on the half season suspension. Fans that know the reason for it think he was very deserving and could have faced much worse punishment from the NFL.

“Suspended but not banned or suspended for the entire season… yet if you gamble on a game… they’ll ban or suspend you for the entire season. I guess we know where ur priorities are @nfl,” one person said.
“Very worth it signing folks (Sarcasm),” added a Steelers fan.
“Interesting way to say he beat on his lady,” said a third commenter.
“The ‘March incident’ Schefter is obfuscating was Sutton attacking a longtime partner (and parent of his three kids) by slamming her into a wall, biting her neck to the point that drew blood, and choking her until she was unconscious. Schefter is such an insult to journalism,” chimed in freelance journalist Marc Delucchi.
“Smdh! He should be done for at least the season!!!!!” said a fifth person.
Sutton had originally began his career with the Steelers for his first six seasons, then spending just one year with the Lions. After facing his 8 game suspension, he can return to the field.
