NFL fans and analysts are sharing their growing concern for the Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones. Specifically, fans and analysts alike are worried about some of the recent tangents that Jones went on about his team, and there is a feeling that Jones’s mental health may be declining with his age.
While the Cowboys have been terrible this season since the start, Jones’ media sessions have been equally as terrible, with the legendary owner sounding more and more puzzling with his statements. Now, ESPN personality Stephen A. Smith compared Jones to President Joe Biden for the way that he has been talking in the media.
Stephen A. Smith Is Worried About Jerry Jones’s Mental Health
While Smith is known as one of the biggest Cowboy haters in the media, he took a different approach on Tuesday after hearing some of Jones’ strange statements about the team in the middle of their awful season. The Cowboys are at 3-7 and they will probably lose most if not all of the rest of their games, so Jones decided to talk about their last 25 years of success.

However, the Cowboys have not gotten close to the NFC championship, let alone the Super Bowl. So Smith got on his show First Take, and he compared the owner to Joe Biden, and he questioned whether or not Jones is still fit to run this organization as he is getting quite old:
“I’m getting very very worried about Jerry Jones,” Smith said. “The only thing that’s worse than the team’s play is his press conferences, or whatever you want to call it when he’s in front of the reporters where he says one thing after another, after another. I find myself thinking about Joe Biden before he backed out of running for reelection. I think Jerry’s one month older than President Joe Biden for crying out loud.”

These comments have gotten NFL fans talking on social media. Both Cowboys fans and haters alike have taken to social media to voice their opinion on Jones and his comments. While some fans agreed with Smith, many others thought that Smith took it way to far with his take:
“Al Davis was hard to watch at end. I’m definitely getting the same vibe from Jones,” one person said.
“I would worry about Stephen A Smith’s Sanity over Jerry Jones’s,” a second person countered.
“Him mentioning Joe Biden stepping down is clown s–t. Smh,” a third person added.
“Bruh, STEPHEN A SMITH feels bad for us Vibes have never been so low,” a Cowboys fan chimed in.
“Even though I lol’d with the accurate comparison, this is offside by Stephen A. Don’t worry about Jerry’s personal health and his family,” a fifth person added.
Jones is 82 years old, and it would make sense that he would not have the same mind as he did 5, 10, or 20 years ago. However, Smith also took it a bit too far in his comparisons, as this take is taking shots at both Jones and the President.
The point that matters is that Jones will not be running the show for that much longer, and while he can do whatever he wants as the owner of the team, there may be some changes coming in the general manager position for the team soon. The Cowboys will need to make tons of moves over the offseason to become competitive again, but one of those decisions should be Jones’ involvement with the player operations.
What do you make of Smith’s comments, and do you think it is time for Jerry to step down?
