NFL Fans Are Fuming Over ESPN’s Mike Greenberg For 2024 Quarterback Rankings

NFL fans have had issues with the legacy media as of late, as fans feel the media and media members just say things for clicks and do not actually give solid perspective and analyses of the sport the way they used to.

Mike Greenberg of ESPN if the latest media member to get trashed on social media, and this time, it is for his quarterback rankings for the 2024 season. While saying blasphemous takes for clicks is one thing, Greenberg’s list went a little too far and pissed many fans off. You will never believe who Greenberg had at the very top of his list of quarterbacks, and it is not Patrick Mahomes.

On Tuesday, ESPN host Greenberg laid out his top 6 quarterbacks for this upcoming season, and he presented this clip in the shape of pyramid because of Aaron Rodgers‘ most recent trip to Egypt during minicamp that he missed. That was the first hint as to the insanity that would come out of Greenberg’s mouth later on.

He placed the two time MVP Lamar Jackson with Jordan Love and C.J. Stroud on the bottom level of the pyramid. Putting Love at six, Stroud at five, and Jackson at four. Then he places Josh Allen and back to back Super Bowl Champion Patrick Mahomes in the middle column, ranking them at three and two respectively.

To almost no fan’s true surprise, the New York Jets biggest fan places Rodgers at the top and the number one quarterback heading in to this season. Fans were having none of it however, as they were quick to social media to call him out for this blatant idiotic take.

NFL Fans Take To Social Media To Trash Mike Greenberg

Greenberg tried to make this take reasonable with some gibberish after revealing his take saying:

“You may say to yourself, how in the world is it that Patrick Mahomes is not No. 1? Well, the reason is, we have to give credit to the man that built the pyramid,” Greenberg declared. “I’m not talking about King Tut. I’m talking about Aaron Rodgers.”

Fans were not convinced at all however, and quickly took to social media to hammer the ESPN host for his blatant lunacy on this take. It is getting a bit outrageous what fans are seeing on ESPN and FOX sports. Hopefully the legacy media realizes that fans want legitimate analysis and not idiot fans giving takes that are really jokes.

“This is one of the more pathetic, biased segments I’ve ever seen in my life,” a fan claimed. “How in the world in 2024 do you think Rodgers, who just blew his Achilles, is anywhere near the level of Mahomes?”

“I really don’t know how people seriously turn on ESPN or FS1 in the mornings,” a fan wondered.

“It’s hard to admit when one of the greats just doesn’t have the juice anymore,” Arrowhead Report’s Joshua Brisco wrote. “This tweet is not about Aaron Rodgers.”

“I didn’t have to watch a second of this video to know he named Rodgers number 1,” a fan said.

Both Booger McFarland and Dan Orlovsky, who were on set, were shaking their heads in disbelief as Greenberg would not listen to any form of rational thinking. He kept doubling down that Rodgers won back to back MVPs and that everyone wrote him off after that.

In his mind, he must think the Jets will win the Super Bowl, and that would make Rodgers the best in the NFL saying:

“He is going to have the best season,” Greenberg decreed. “Mark my words. He is going to have the best season of any quarterback in the NFL this year.”

But no matter what, Rodgers will not be looked at as a better QB than Mahomes after this year. Mahomes had a brutal statistical season last year and that does not mean Brock Purdy is better. It is sad that the once great media outlets for sports have now just resorted to this nonsense.
