NFL Fans Are Freaking Out Over Pre-Game Weather Delay Before Chiefs-Ravens Opener

As everyone must know by now, the 2024 NFL season is starting with a weather delay! The on-field preparation for the opening game between the Kansas City Chiefs and Baltimore Ravens had to come to a halt.

Fans are all going to have to wait for just a bit longer for the beginning of the season, and of course, that sent fans into a freak-out. It was brutal for fans to see the players and coaches head to the locker room for shelter from the thundering storms.

NFL analyst Rich Eisen chimed in saying:

“With lightning flashing, the Chiefs and Ravens just ran off the field with fans now heading out of their seats,” tweeted longtime broadcaster Rich Eisen. “Have no idea how this affects the start time of tonight’s game. Rain supposed to stop within the hour.”

The pregame show on NBC also provided a glimpse into the storm and there was no way they could play in that condition:

Please go away, rain… We've been waiting months for this day.

Sadly it looks like fans will have to wait a total of 20 more minutes for the NFL season to start and while we have all been waiting for months, 20 more minutes feels like an eternity.

Instead of kicking off at 8:20 p.m. ET, Chiefs-Ravens will begin at 8:40 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock.

Fans were literally praying to god to get the rain away so the football season could start. It seems that fans are incredibly hungry for football season and rightfully so.

Finally, it is here! and here are the best fan reactions to delay:
