NFL and San Francisco 49ers fans had a lot to say about Nick Bosa’s comments on Wednesday following Election Day. Specifically, fans were all talking about Bosa’s comments on whether or not he would be fined and how he feels about it.
Nick Bosa Says It Was Worth It To Wear MAGA Hat
Two weeks ago, the 49ers defensive end Bosa stirred up conversation by making an unexpected appearance during teammate Brock Purdy’s postgame interview on Sunday Night Football. The reason? Bosa showed up wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat, sparking plenty of attention.
When asked by reporters if he wanted to elaborate on his public support for Donald Trump, Bosa declined to comment. As the 2022 NFL Defensive Player of the Year, his actions could potentially lead to a fine for violating the league’s policy against political statements.
However, when reporters caught up with him today after Trump’s election victory on Tuesday, Bosa didn’t seem concerned about any repercussions.
“It was well worth it,” Bosa said about potentially being fined. “I don’t think my position on speaking about it is going to change. Clearly, the nation spoke and we got what we got.”

Nick Bosa wasn’t wrong in calling Trump’s win a surprising one. Trump not only defeated Kamala Harris by a wide margin in the Electoral College but also became the first Republican in two decades to win the popular vote.
Although the four-time Pro Bowler is keeping most of his political views private, his remarks today still managed to ignite a buzz among fans and commentators alike. As expected half of the fans were disgusted by his remarks and the other half were in support:
“This honestly feels like it could be the end of my time as a Niners fan. The team giving him this platform when the NFL/Niners crucified Colin Kaepernick says everything I need to know,” one person wrote.
“9ers by 40,” another person said.
“Incoming overreactions,” a third added.
“I love that he waited to say anything until they won. Coward s–t,” a fourth person chimed in.
“If he don’t stfu and just play football like our defense is mid b—h…can’t believe he used to be one of my favorite players lmfao bye,” another 49ers fan added.
We will have to wait and see if the league fines the star defender, but either way, Bosa does not seem to care. Bosa shared additionally that he had a great time watching the election results come in and that he stayed up late Tuesday night.
