The Denver Broncos have officially announced their starting quarterback for the season and it has fans buzzing with excitement.
Denver Broncos Name Bo Nix The Starter For Week 1
As it has been reported on Gridiron already, the moment that Bo took the field in his preseason game, the fans could be heard booming.
All indications were leading to this decision being made by the organization and Sean Payton, especially as Nix has been unbelievable through two preseason games. He has been almost unstoppable in getting points, and he looks like a seasoned player already:
Nix played into the second quarter Sunday. He completed 8 of 9 passes for 80 yards and a touchdown for a robust 140.7 passer rating. After that, it would make no sense for the Broncos to start Jarrett Stidham over Nix. However, we’ll wait on Payton’s official word.
Nix’s numbers would have been better, but a nice play in the first quarter didn’t officially count. Near the goal line, he escaped pressure to his left but kept looking downfield. He found Javonte Williams in the end zone and flipped him a pass for a touchdown.
A replay review showed Nix was over the line of scrimmage when he threw, wiping out the play. He’ll have to work on his awareness, but the play showed off his creativity and talent. The Broncos will take that and not worry too much about a preseason touchdown not counting.
The team will officially waste no time in starting the Bo Nix era in Denver. It is clear that the entire fan base backs this decision as well.
