NFL Fans and analysts alike are all sharing their reactions to the bombshell punishment that the new Los Angeles Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh was dealt from the NCAA.
Jim Harbaugh Gets Huge Punishment From NCAA College Football
On Wednesday, the NCAA slapped Jim Harbaugh with a huge punishment as discussed on Gridiron previously:
The NCAA Division I Committee on Infractions panel didn’t only issue a full one-season suspension to Harbaugh, but they also gave him a four-year show-cause order. This was for “unethical conduct and failure to cooperate with the (NCAA) membership’s infraction process,” per On3 Sports.
While the punishment being dished out by the NCAA in this case has no ties to the alleged sign-stealing scandal that is currently undergoing investigation, Michigan expects to receive a Notice of Allegations from the NCAA regarding that investigation soon.
This particular punishment has to do with recruiting violations and non-coaching staff overstepping their bounds and doing “coaching activities.” Michigan itself admitted to not properly monitoring the football program Harbaugh was running.
This punishment is no laughing matter at all, however, fans and analysts alike have been laughing on social media the whole day from this.
Harbaugh is not likely to ever go back to College Football making this punishment completely irrelevant. Harbaugh has his national title already, and the impact of this punishment will probably never be felt.
NFL And College Football Fans React To Punishment
Fans have been treating this punishment and pointless and laughable, as no one thinks Harbaugh will ever think of going back to college football.
“This is like being suspended from a school you are no longer enrolled at,” J.D. PicKell of On3 Sports wrote.
“High school principal tells graduated student that he has detention if he ever decides to re enroll,” another user joked.
“When your boss finds the pile of (expletive) you left in his desk but you’ve already filled out the direct deposit information for your new job,” joked a third.
One analyst for Fox Sports Colin Cowherd led his show with this story explaining in depth why the punishment is pointless:
"It means nothing. Harbaugh is never going back to college football."

While the NCAA enforced their rules and regulations, nobody is taking this seriously at all. Do you think this punishment is as pointless as everyone is saying?
