The NFL’s best quarterback is unanimous in 2024, as unless you are blind, everyone knows that Patrick Mahomes is the best there is in the league today. The Kansas City Chiefs are coming off back-to-back Super Bowls and with that comes the unanimous title of best quarterback. Beyond that, Mahomes is on track to become one of the greatest ever.
However, 50 NFL coaches around the league were anonymously polled to give their rankings for all the starters this year, and while the top of the list was obvious, the bottom was quite surprising.
Anonymous Group Of Coaches Reveal Quarterback List
While the coaches all agreed that Mahomes was at the top of tier 1, there were three others to join him after in that tier. Joe Burrow, Lamar Jackson, and Josh Allen rounded out the top tier in no particular order.
What can now be safely implied by not only all of these anonymous league coaches but also by both Tom Brady and Peyton Manning giving their lists for the top quarterbacks this year, is that these are the top four according to almost everyone who knows anything about football. Both Brady and Peyton agreed with these 50 coaches that these are for sure the top 4 guys.
While the top of the list is not surprising at all, the question is, who is at the bottom of all the starters in the league?
New England Patriots Have The Worst Starter
Per The Athletic’s poll of al; of the different coaches and executives around the league, they determined that the New England Patriots will present the league’s worst starter for 2024. From all of the starters in the league, Patriots’ Jacoby Brissett came in the last place in the 2024 rankings.
Brisset came in the final tier 4 group of guys which was described as:
“A Tier 4 quarterback could be an unproven player (not enough information for voters to classify) or a veteran who ideally would not start all 17 games.”
There was only one single NFL coach who thought that Brisset could be just above that tier:
“Jacoby is a 3.5 who can win some games for you in the right system,” an NFL head coach said. “He is one of the few backup quarterbacks that could start in this league. It worked in Cleveland because he’s a play-action thrower and that system fits him.”

Quarterback Tiers have arrived.

If Brisset is thought off that low around the entire league, it would follow that we will end up seeing Drake Maye in the starting role sooner rather than later.
