The New York Giants season hasn’t gone well. After re-signing Daniel Jones and getting Saquon Barkley back in the fold, the Giants have started 1-5 and have one of the worst offenses in the league. As the trade deadline looms, many wondered whether Barkley would demand a trade. He made his intentions for this team clear on Friday.

New York Giants Saquon Barkley On Commitment To The Team
Barkley is committed to this team and made sure the reporters knew it.
“Sitting here, everyone knows how I feel. I don’t think anyone in their right mind would want to get traded anywhere. It’s not an easy thing to do. You have to move. I have a family. I would love to be here. But like I said, it’s not in my control. My focus is to be the leader I can be for this team and get this thing on the right track.”
Barkley admits that it is out of his control but that his desire is to stay with the team. With the running back market at an all-time low, the Giants probably aren’t incentivized to move him as the return likely wouldn’t be a lot. Still, he is a name to watch as the trade deadline approaches.

Can The Giants Turn It Around?
It is going to be a tall task for the Giants. The schedule is tough as every division game features a tough battle. The offense looks miles away from where it was last year and the injury bug has bitten them again. While having Justin Pugh say “straight off the couch” during Sunday Night Football, it says something about the state of the offensive line. Pair that with wide receivers who are inconsistent and a defense that is trying to find its footing and the season has been rough so far.

Hopefully with Saquon Barkley back, the New York Giants offense can find its rhythm. The team will need to do something fast or they should look to become sellers at the deadline.
