Cincinnati Bengals head coach Zac Taylor offered more clarity on star quarterback Joe Burrow’s status before their Week 1 matchup against the Cleveland Browns. Burrow has been dealing with a calf strain since training camp in July. The Bengals recently thought Burrow was trending toward playing against the Browns.

According to Adam Schefter with ESPN, Taylor made it sound like Burrow will be the QB1 on Sunday. Taylor said Burrow is expected to be a full participant in practice Wednesday.
Bengals’ HC Zac Taylor said Joe Burrow is expected to practice in full today. This puts him on track to start Sunday’s game vs. the Browns.

That should mean Burrow is a lock to start against the Browns. But we’ll see how Burrow’s calf handles the practice Wednesday.
The Bengals have Jake Browning listed as the QB2. The Bengals recently hedged their bets at quarterback by bringing in veteran Will Grier to their practice squad. Grier had a great preseason finale with the Dallas Cowboys.
