This week, the NFL made a significant move by issuing a security warning to team security directors and players’ unions. This announcement revealed that there is an escalating threat aimed at the very homes of professional athletes like Kansas City Chiefs stars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce.
These recent burglary threats involving the stars have raised concern, suggesting that they may be coming from a more organized network of criminals potentially linked to an international syndicate.
NFL Issues Security Alert Exposing International Crime Threats Targeting Athletes’ Homes
According to Sources the FBI is investigating this crime spree, which is believed to be engineered by a South American crime syndicate. The crimes has been described as complex and well-organized, which is specifically targeting athletes from both the NFL and NBA over the past few weeks.
“It’s legit,” said an informed source, highlighting the urgency and seriousness of the situation. “It’s a transnational crime ring, and over the last three weeks, they’ve focused on NBA and NFL players, and it’s all over the country.”
These incidents have occurred nationwide, and recently at least a home belonging to other current NFL player’s was burglarized.
Both Mahomes and Kelce were victims of burglary on consecutive days last month in the Kansas City area, prompting swift action from the league.
Another high-profile case was that of Linval Joseph a former defensive tackle for the Minnesota Vikings, who currently plays for the Dallas Cowboys after his home in Minnesota was also burglarized following other break-ins.
All of these cases illustrate the scale and seriousness of the crimes that have been committed against athletes in professional sports.

The approach used by the thieves is careful and discreet. they ensure homes are empty before breaking in and reports reveal that they exploite public records, criminals determine players’ addresses, and they stealthily watch team activities, the players themselves and patrons for some time.
This way, they identify the best times to strike, often during game days, when homes are vacant. Once inside, they swiftly focus on stealing valuables like cash, jewelry, and high-end accessories from master bedrooms and closets.
In response to the burglaries, NFL Security has encouraged players and their relatives to take several precautions against further occurrences.
Players are advised to refrain from posting live on social media as it may unintentionally reveal their location. The installation of strong security systems and the hiding of valuables are some of the security measures being recommended.
