One of the biggest stories about the New York Giants’ bye week will be whether or not they will be benching Daniel Jones during the bye week. The Giants lost to the Carolina Panthers on the road 20-17 and Jones has not played well during the five-game losing streak.

Carolina is 3-7 this season and New York is 2-8 this season. It appears as if the Jones era with the Giants could very well be over.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter Reports That New York Giants Quarterback Daniel Jones Played His Last Snap With the Team

On Monday, head coach Brian Daboll did not commit to Jones being the starting quarterback for the team after the bye week. They will face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after the bye. If Jones doesn’t start, it will either be Drew Lock or Tommy DeVito.
On Tuesday morning, ESPN’s Adam Schefter went onto Chris Canty’s show. Schefter said about Jones’s future with the Giants:
“I would GUESS Daniel Jones never plays another snap for the #Giants“
This is great news for the Giants moving forward if this turns out to be the case. New York would be signaling that this is the end of the Daniel Jones era and it is time to turn the page. It has been six years too long with the franchise.
Joe Schoen Will Meet With the Media on Tuesday

On Tuesday, general manager Joe Schoen will meet with the media at 3 p.m. ET. It will be interesting to see what he is asked about the Giants starting quarterback. Schoen decided to double down on Jones this offseason. There are a lot of fans who are already bashing him and there is no question they are waiting to pounce once again.
Assuming Jones does not play another snap for the Giants ever again, it would mean that they are going to be drafting a quarterback in the 2025 NFL Draft. Schoen has scouted Colorado Buffaloes quarterback Shedeur Sanders and Miami Hurricanes quarterback Cam Ward already this college football season.
