Tom Brady is arguably the greatest quarterback in NFL history. During his playing career, he won six Super Bowl rings with the New England Patriots and one with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, making him the most decorated quarterback (in terms of championships) in league history.

Now that he is officially retired and talks of a possible comeback have ended, Brady has started his new career as a broadcaster. Even before his playing days ended, he had signed a lucrative contract with Fox Sports to call NFL games for them.
Earlier this year, Fox made the decision to demote Greg Olson, who was immensely popular with fans, and put Brady in his premier spot on the broadcast team.
Early returns on his first game do not seem very positive.
NFL Fans Blast Tom Brady and Fox for His Commentary During the Dallas Cowboys vs Cleveland Browns Game
Brady’s first assignment as an NFL broadcaster for Fox was the Week One matchup between the Dallas Cowboys and Cleveland Browns. The Cowboys won the game 33-17, but much of the discussion on social media during the game was not about the play on the field, but whatever was being passed off as commentary.

Many fans were calling on Fox to bring Olson back to the number one broadcasting team instead of Brady:
Greg Olson just called a masterful game (Steelers v falcons). It’s too early to say how Tom Brady does today but so far it’s not even close. Fox should not have put Brady on the #1 team in his first year.

Love TB12, but he absolutely shouldn’t have replaced Greg Olson on the #1 Team…
Fox messed that one up!

Tom Brady is so bad at his job no way they let him replace Greg Olson

It should be noted that this was Brady’s first game. While he may not have had the best performance, he will likely get better as time goes on.
That being said, Fox probably would have been wiser to have kept Olson on their number one team and assigned Brady to other games until he gained more experience and got better at the job.
When Brady first became the Patriots starting quarterback, he was an almost instant success. That does not seem to be the case in the booth.
