NFL fans are coming up with jokes after Stephen A. Smith fumbled and mentioned Charlie Kirk instead of Christian Kirk during a broadcast of the Wild Card matchup between the Texans and the Steelers.
Smith was discussing the Texans’ performance when he mixed up the names, leading to some very hilarious reactions from fans. At the same time, several fans have even asked the network to fire Smith after the goof-up.
“We saw Charlie Kirk catch 8 receptions for 144 yards…I apologize. Oh my God. Christian Kirk,” Stephen A. Smith said.

“Charlie Kirk catching NFL passes is a WILD crossover (crying emoji)” one fan said.
“People are killing SAS for this one, and as someone who does TV, but not nearly as much as him, these things happen. Familiar names sound like name you’re looking for. I think most criticism, in this case, is overreaction. Trust me, it happens. Don’t think there any intent.” Another fan said.
“To be fair, I call Christian Kirk, Charlie, all the time (skull emoji x2)” one more fan joked.

NFL Fans Continue To Joke About SAS Mixing Up Charlie Kirk & Christian Kirk
NFL fans are clearly having a field day trolling Stephen A. Smith for confusing Charlie Kirk for Christian Kirk. More so, the situation seems to have become a template, with many taking cracks at coming up with jokes on the player, the sportscaster and also the late political activist.
“My mom mixes my name up with my siblings all the time. Don’t read into this too much.” One fan stated.
“Charlie Kirk did all this while dead? The goat!” one fan said.
“Happens to the best of us… but that pause was legendary,” another fan added.
Meanwhile, many other fans have already managed to create AI-generated videos and images of Charlie Kirk as a football player. One hilarious picture had Kirk kneeling on the ground, with his wife Erika dressed as a cheerleader, and President Donald Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance both cheered him on.

While Smith’s goof-up was a mistake, obviously, some fans felt that it may have been subconsciously intentional. Others felt that it showed the political alliance that Smith was actually standing up for. Smith himself has claimed that he might run for President in the next elections.
