The Houston Texans finished this season with a 10-7 record and won the AFC South once again. They beat the Los Angeles Chargers in the wild-card round but lost to the Kansas City Chiefs in the divisional round.

The Texans have won the division for the last two seasons. Demeco Ryans has been the head coach and Bobby Slowik has been the offensive coordinator during the last two years. Houston is looking to get to another level at some point.
Houston Texans Shockingly Fired Offensive Coordinator Bobby Slowik On Friday

On Friday, there was major news across the NFL that involved the Houston Texans. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported on his Twitter page:
“A major change in Houston: The #Texans are moving on from offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik, sources say, after an up-and-down offensive season. Despite reaching the divisional round, coach DeMeco Ryans hopes for more. OL coach Chris Strausser is also out.”
Firing Slowik came as a major surprise for the Houston Texans fanbase. He was getting potential head coaching interviews with other teams after last season and some thought that he could be hired during this coaching cycle as well. Instead, he will be looking for a new spot to be an offensive coordinator or another coaching position in the NFL.

Wow, this is surprising. Coen gets two jobs and Slowik can’t keep one.

OL coach makes sense. Not Slowik

Crazy, that’s what happens when you get a defensive minded HC, if the OC succeeds he’s gone, if he doesn’t, then you fire him, but the HC escapes culpability

Would not be surprised of Klay Kubiak winds up in Houston. Worked with DeMeco in San Francisco, did great work in New Orleans until Carr got hurt. It makes sense for all parties.

Imagine getting fired because you couldn’t get more out of a depleted WR and TE room!! pic.twitter.com/SoMMHeAjeH

There are a lot of fans who can’t comprehend about the Texans making this move. Despite C.J. Stroud struggling this season, this was a mistake for Houston to fire Bobby Slowik. They had tons of injuries on offense this season and should have given Bobby Slowik another season also.
