While the NFL game in Brazil has been wildly entertaining, fans have noticed a major point of concern for the player’s safety.
Fans have been watching these incredible athletes slip all over the field as if they are figure skaters during the Philadelphia Eagles’ win against the Green Bay Packers. It is reminiscent of the Super Bowl between the same Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs where no one could seem to get their footing on the grass.
Green Bay Packers Coach Sends Message About Field
While the entire NFL world seemed to take issue with the field itself during the matchup, which saw players sliding and unable to make any type of open field tackle, even the Packers’ head coach noted the terrible issue in his halftime interview.
The field is crucial to players’ safety, and while it didn’t seem like any player suffered a brutal injury due to the field, the product of the game itself was changed due to players not being able to gain traction on the grass. It was effectively a slip ‘n-slide night for all the players at some point. Matt Lafluer acknowledged the real problem of the field saying:
“We got to do whatever we got to do,” LaFleur said in a halftime interview. “Maybe change your cleats. Yeah, it’s been a problem.”
Many fans were very nervous about the game being played in Brazil altogether and with the field the way it was even Lebron James had to chime in.
NFL World Reacts To Slip’N Slide Field
Many fans from around the entire NFL world including King James chimed in on the issues with the field. While many fans took the comedic route in their reactions to watching the players slip around, others shared their concern for the players’ safety on such a poor field.
