The Philadelphia Eagles signed Saquon Barkley last offseason. Barkley decided to leave the New York Giants and take his talents elsewhere.

Because of it, he benefited from being on a different team and won the Super Bowl. Saquon Barkley rushed for 2,005 yards on 345 carries and 13 touchdowns, along with averaging 5.8 yards per carry. He also caught 33 passes for 278 yards receiving and two touchdowns, along with averaging 8.4 yards per reception.
NFL Insider Reports New Contract Extension For Philadelphia Eagles Running Back Saquon Barkley

Adam Schefter reported on his Twitter page that the Eagles star running back was rewarded for the season he had. Schefter said:
“Eagles are rewarding Saquon Barkley with a two-year, $41.2 million contract extension that makes him the highest-paid running back in NFL history, per sources. The deal makes Barkley the NFL’s first $20 million+ per-year running back. Barkley also has the ability to earn an additional $15 million in incentives and escalators. The deal includes $36 million fully guaranteed at signing. The Eagles are taking the rare step of extending Barkley one year into his three-year deal – and in the same league year in which they signed him to the initial contract.”
This is good news for the 28-year-old running back. Barkley will probably be spending the rest of his career with the Eagles. This contract comes after he just signed with Philadelphia last offseason.

I love this contract, this also means that he is getting paid the same amount total as the avv for Daniel Jones’ contract with the Giants.

Barkley is going to be torching the New York Giants and other teams with the Philadelphia Eagles for the rest of his NFL career. Philadelphia could win another Super Bowl with him at the helm in the backfield. Did Barkley just reset the market for running backs? Derrick Henry of the Baltimore Ravens may want a new contract after this also.
