The Cincinnati Bengals finished the 2024 season with a 9-8 record. They just missed the playoffs this season and many speculated that the Kansas City Chiefs lost intentionally against the Denver Broncos in Week 18 to not let Cincinnati in the playoffs.
The only quarterback to have stopped Patrick Mahomes recently from getting to the Super Bowl is Joe Burrow. Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson have not been to a Super Bowl yet in their respective careers. Burrow had a great season in 2024 despite missing the playoffs.
ESPN’s Chris Canty Makes Bold Take On Cincinnati Bengals Quarterback Joe Burrow
On Friday on First Take on ESPN, Chris Canty made a bold take about the superstar quarterback for the Bengals. He said:
“[Joe Burrow] is not an elite quarterback.”
This was in response to the question on the show about whether Burrow is an elite quarterback or not. The fact that Chris Canty said this was preposterous. The former LSU Tigers quarterback this past season completed 70.6% of his passes for 4,918 yards, 43 touchdowns, and eight interceptions.
He led the league in passing yards and touchdowns. Burrow was a finalist for the MVP Award this season along with Josh Allen, Saquon Barkley, Derrick Henry, and Jared Goff. It will be interesting to see where Joe Burrow finishes in the rankings.

Burrow was one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL this season. Chris Canty is just trying to spew nonsense out to his viewers. Joe Burrow is 28 years old and will be one of the top quarterbacks in the NFL for the next several seasons also.
