The New York Jets are looking for a new head coach for the 2025 NFL season and beyond. Robert Saleh was the head coach for the Jets at the start of the 2024 NFL season and he was fired during the middle of the season.
Jeff Ulbrich took over the interim head coaching job for the remainder of the 2024 NFL season. The Jets finished with a 5-12 record during the 2024 NFL season. The New York Jets will have the seventh overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. One name to potentially watch for in the Jets coaching search is Kansas City Chiefs defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo.
NFL Network Reports That the New York Jets Have Requested An Interview For Kansas City Chiefs Defensive Coordinator Steve Spagnuolo
According to Mike Garafolo on NFL Network, he said on his Twitter account on Wednesday afternoon:
“The #Jets are requesting an interview with #Chiefs defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo for their head-coaching spot, source says. The two-time #Giants DC and interim HC will discuss a potential return to Jersey.”
It would be interesting to see if the Chiefs would permit the Jets to interview him. Spagnuolo is no stranger to coaching in New York. He was the defensive coordinator in 2007 when the New York Giants upset the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLII.

They need everyone and ANYONE they can get unfortunately
So much talent and zero results

He deserves it. So good with players I think it could work this time with a good OC and most importantly a GM that knows how to communicate and get him the type of players he wants. Brett Veach is outstanding at this.

Jets have a LONG list of interview requests. Very interesting.

Spagnuolo is one of the reasons why the Kansas City Chiefs are on the verge of a three-peat this season. Even though the New York Jets need an offensive-minded head coach, Steve Spagnuolo would be a great hire for them. However, it would not be a surprise to see Kansas City keep him around considering the fact Andy Reid could be close to retirement also.
