NFL fans took to social media this week to celebrate former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick’s 36th birthday. Kaepernick’s birthday was on Friday.
The former NFL quarterback has had an eventful fall. Kaepernick penned a letter to the New York Jets this September, asking the team to take him on their practice squad this season. Even with his age increasing, Kaepernick still thinks he can play at a high level.
So far, no NFL teams have shown interest in taking him on. But Kaepernick has had other professional success. Kaepernick was featured in the video game “Wild Card Football” in October. Nike also partnered with Kaepernick for a new apparel line celebrating his activism.
However, his activism has been polarizing in the NFL community. And it could be the reason no team will take on the 36-year-old quarterback.
