Quinn Ewers, former college football quarterback for the Texas Longhorns, is predicted to be an underperformer according to ESPN’s QBASE 2.0 model. Ewers last played as starting quarterback for the Texas Longhorns from 2022 to 2024 before applying for the 2025 NFL draft. Prior to Texas, the 22-year-old quarterback played for the Ohio State Buckeyes for a solo season.
The QBASE 2.0 model assesses college quarterbacks for their success in the NFL. The predictive model mainly focuses on three aspects, including rushing ability, passing stats and also their total experience with the team. The model also determines the quarterback’s ability to learn and evolve with whichever team they play.
“While he was a three-year starter, that is not enough to make up for his relative lack of the traits that best translate to the NFL: accuracy, rushing ability and avoiding sacks.” The QBASE 2.0 model predicts in terms of Quinn Ewers.
This prediction by QBASE 2.0 will definitely not be favorable for Quinn Ewers since he hopes to make it to a high-performing NFL team through the draft. In his last season for the Texas Longhorns, Ewers threw for a total of 3,472 passing yards, scoring 31 touchdowns along with 12 interceptions for the team.

Quinn Ewers Should Reconsider NFL According To ESPN Analyst Todd McShay
While the QBASE 2.0 predictive model has dropped its two cents on Quinn Ewers, similar things seem to be echoed by other NFL pundits. A couple of days back, Todd McShay, a former NFL analyst for ESPN, announced that Ewers is definitely not ready for the NFL.

McShay went on to advise Quinn Ewers to return to college for one more year. Furthermore, Ewers should also transfer to another college to improve his skills, according to Todd McShay. However, despite all the naysaying around him, Ewers seems more confident than ever in a recent interview.
“I believe I’m the best in this class and the most NFL-ready because of everything I’ve faced.” Quinn Ewers stated in a recent interview.

While Ewers’ numbers seemed to be decent in his last season with the Texas Longhorns, it is also true that the young quarterback did not have a strong year. Ewers also missed a number of games with the Longhorns because of injuries. The quarterback still tried his best at the NFL Combine to impress scouts. Scouts were quick to point that the young quarterback’s throwing skills were sub-par and would be useless in the NFL.
