The Dallas Cowboys were recently named as a logical trade option for a disgruntled Tampa Bay Buccaneers star wide receiver. The Cowboys have been investing in their offense before the 2023 regular season. The Cowboys recently gave new contracts to two members of their offensive line.
However, the Cowboys could add help at wide receiver this season. Quarterback Dak Prescott is looking for sure pass catchers as he attempts to return from a 2022 season that saw him throw a career-high 15 interceptions.
The Cowboys added Brandin Cooks this offseason. The starting wide receiver corps has an impressive starter trio of Cooks, Michael Gallup, and CeeDee Lamb. But one NFL writer thinks the Cowboys can improve on it.
Dallas Cowboys named in a trade for Mike Evans
Bryan DeArdo wrote about potential trade fits for Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans. Evans wants a new contract before the regular season. DeArdo named the Cowboys as a fit for Evans:
Don’t put this past Jerry Jones, who loves star players as much as Taylor Swift loves sparkles. Besides, you can’t have too many good receivers, and with CeeDee Lamb and Brandin Cooks already in tow, adding Evans would give the Cowboys one of the league’s top receiving corps.
Will the Tampa Bay Buccaneers trade Evans to the Cowboys?
The Cowboys ended Tom Brady’s NFL career and the Buccaneers’ Super Bowl hopes last season. The Buccaneers might not want to trade Evans to a team they might see in the playoffs.
However, if the Cowboys propose an offer of a high Day 2 pick, the Buccaneers might have to consider the offer seriously. The Buccaneers need as much draft capital as possible to rebuild the team after the successful Brady era.
