The Dallas Cowboys spent the last week under siege from the media. Micah Parsons is tired of hearing it. Specifically, he is tired of hearing the slander about quarterback Dak Prescott. On his weekly podcast, Parsons went on a rant about the media.
Dallas Cowboys Micah Parsons Slams Media Over Dak Prescott
After the team lost 42-10 to the San Francisco 49ers, the whole week was Prescott slander. Some of the criticism was valid. Prescott didn’t play well. However, Parsons feels like it was over the top, and other teams are not held to the same standard.
“I just don’t condone the bashing of Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys, and have the same energy for the Eagles. We want the same energy for everybody. Because there’s a whole bunch of bashing when it’s Dak Prescott, but not the same when it’s the Eagles,”
Jalen Hurts is coming off a terrible performance where he had a similar turnover-heavy day and people are not criticizing him as much. I get where Parsons is coming from but this is the reality of being on the Cowboys.
Cowboys Are A Different Standard
They are branded as “America’s Team”. Jerry Jones is one of the most outspoken owners in the league. The team is under a microscope. While the treatment has been over the top, it is what we have come to expect out of the Cowboys. ESPN personality Stephen A. Smith has created a whole persona around laughing at the Cowboys. However, that goes both ways. Parsons likely would not have a successful podcast if he played for the Panthers or Cardinals. It is a blessing and a curse to play for this team.
The Cowboys shut up some critics with a win over the Chargers on Monday night. Prescott had a great game and got the win. With the Eagles’ loss, they are one game back in the division. It is Super Bowl or bust for this team. Will they finally be able to get over the hump?
