There isn’t many more things the NFL hates than injuries.  Every year the league deals with them from training camp all the way to the week of the Super Bowl.  However, it was one Super Bowl contender who caught the attention of the league when one of their best players went down.

On Wednesday, Washington Commanders minicamp practice was interrupted by a possible major injury:

Star quarterback Jayden Daniels burst onto the scene last season, passing for 3,568 yards, 25 touchdowns and nine interceptions while leading the Commanders to their first NFC Championship Game appearance since 1991.

One of the reasons Daniels was so impressive had to do with the depth of wide receiver corps, which is built around Pro Bowler Terry McLaurin. But perhaps the most overlooked member of that WR group is Noah Brown.

The 29-year-old wideout had a solid season last year, catching 35 passes for 453 with a lone touchdown — a 52-yard game-winning Hail Mary against the Chicago Bears that may go down as one of the top plays in franchise history.

While Brown is expected to play an integral role in the passing game in 2025, the Commanders are likely holding their breath as they wait to find out Brown’s prognosis after he went down with an undisclosed injury during 7-on-7 drills and was ultimately carted off the field, according to Washington Post reporter Nicki Jhabvala.

Brown reportedly threw his helmet after being helped to the sideline, a likely indication that whatever his ailment is could be serious.

If Brown does miss any significant time, the Commanders fortunately have Pro Bowler Deebo Samuel and former 1,000-yard receiver Michael Gallup.

Given Brown’s injury situation, it could push the Commanders to work out a new contract for McLaurin, who is a no-show to minicamp as he holds out for a new deal. McLaurin posted his fifth-straight 1,000-yard season in 2024 along with 82 catches and a career-high 13 touchdowns.
