The New York Jets will meet with a top QB choice

The New York Jets will visit with a top free-agent quarterback this weekend. The Jets have made it public they intend to land a top quarterback for the 2023 season. Reports have come out they reached out to the Green Bay Packers about an Aaron Rodgers trade. But they will certainly be looking at other options.

The Jets have made offseason hires to lure in a few top quarterback prizes. Offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett has ties to Rodgers. Passing-game coordinator Todd Downing has experience with Derek Carr.

With Rodgers heading into his “darkness retreat” this weekend, the Jets intend to visit a free agent. According to Mike Garafolo with the NFL Network, the Jets will meet with Carr over the weekend.

The #Jets are bringing in free agent QB Derek Carr for a visit this weekend, sources say. It’ll be the second meeting with a team for Carr, who visited the #Saints prior to his release by the #Raiders.

Carr visited with the New Orleans Saints while still with the Las Vegas Raiders. The Raiders were looking to trade Carr, but he opted for free agency, and the Raiders released Carr before his guaranteed contract kicked in. We’ll see if Carr’s bet pays off in the coming months. The New York Jets wouldn’t be a bad place for him to end up.
